Church Street, Burlington, VT

There are a lot of trendy cafes, bars and shops at Church Street. It's the most happening place in Burlington. When in Vermont don't forget to check the place out.

Booooooooo!!!!!!

Halloween 2007 - I joined the pumpkin carving contest at school and won second place. Not bad for a first-timer!

Apple-picking at Chapin Orchard, Vermont, USA

This photo was taken last Sept. 30,2006 at the Chapin Orchard in Vermont. We went apple-picking. As future chefs we had to know where our produce is sourced and the methods they use to produce them. In this farm they don't use toxic chemicals. You can pick and eat all the apples you want right off the trees. These kids are also my original batchmates-AOS Sept 2006.

Deliciousness!!!!

A sample of Chef Gavin Kaysen's dishes at El Bizcocho.

Chef Gavin Kaysen of El Bizcocho in San Diego. He was a former NECI student, won an international award and one of Food & Wine Magazine's top chefs of 2007. He was at the Inn for a demo of his signature dishes. He worked in Switzerland and with the legendary chef Marco Pierre White in London.

Chef Josh Gibbs with Block C

chef Josh gathered us around during our last day in class with him for Ala Carte Lunch. He taught me how to make my Risotto "al dente", to be creative with our garnishes and cook our food right, hot and well seasoned! ..because bland food sucks! All of my Mod 2 instructors were just awesome! That's Charlie behind Daniel.

With Chef Matt Zimmerman

Chef Matt came by our class at banquets to show us the birthday cake he made for his son who wanted a Blues Clues birthday cake. chef Matt is one of the coolest and most knowledgeable instructors we had for Bakeshop. It was also nice of him and Chef Josh Gibbs (not in the photo) to drop by our classroom and bid us goodluck for our internship.
